Before commencing the formal vibration test, it is crucial to conduct a “pre-test.” The pre-test serves several essential purposes to ensure the success and accuracy of the formal testing process.
1) To understand the coordination and working conditions of each part of the vibration test system and to observe whether the test can be carried out normally. For example, the operating status of the vibration test equipment, whether the installation of the product and fixture is appropriate, whether there are any problems with vibration measurement and feedback control, etc., so as to confirm that the test can be carried out normally.
2) During the vibration test, it is often necessary to test the product functions and performance indicators, and these tests are usually carried out by the test entrusting party. Therefore, before the formal test begins, it is necessary to coordinate the performance test with the test entrusting party under the low-level test state, eliminate the factors that interfere with each other during the normal test process, and check the time of the performance test.
3) Perform an initial vibration response check to provide a basis for comparison for the vibration response check after the test. The level of the pre-test can usually be 1/4 (-12dB) of the formal test level.
By adhering to these pre-test requirements, we ensure the reliability and accuracy of the subsequent formal vibration testing. This thorough preparation not only safeguards the equipment and product but also ensures the integrity of the test results, leading to successful and meaningful vibration analysis.
